Thanks mm for the translation.I was around my mums today decorating and my mums cousin phoned up.She is originally from llanhilleth then moved to west wales, she is now in a village in Powys called LLangynidr. The village is north of the valleys its near crickhowell.I should if I knew she was ringing asked her to translate.I know she learnt welsh fluently whilst in west wales, when they moved to LLangnidr they noticed the difference in dialect from west wales to where they live now.I can remember in llanhilleth going up to the old church on the mountain called st Iltyd.I had a look around and there was only 1 or 2 gravestones in welsh over the last 300 years. So I suppose over that time there were a lot of people who came from outside wales.I would imagine gary d would know where st ILtyd church is,its on the old Pontypool to abertiellery road and it is really steep. If I remember correctly most of the mines in that area were sunk by miners mostly from somerset.
