very interesting mm as you well know rugby in south wales was as important as religion.some of my relations over the years played mostly for abertillery along time ago.I think one played against the royal navy in the miners lockout just after the first world war.The locals were not very happy as the royal navy marched down the valleys with fixed bayonets,i think there were a few scraps with the navy. Also e distant relation I think played against new Zealand when they were on tour.I years ago watched a programme about the Cornish tin miners strike .The government sent policemen from the south wales coal mining area down to cornwall. These policeman didn't mess about the tin miners were warned to disperse they didn't,the police battered the miners.I can see in me sometimes the non conformist that come down from my welsh heritage,i always found my welsh side of the family were very to the point and rights right and wrongs wrong.
