Thank you all for your kind words and advice, some of it helpful! Iím now out of hospital and feeling extremely well. The problem was that my Pacemaker had unknowingly become infected, and it was only after one of the dogs tripped me up coming down the stairs, thus allowing me to measure my length across the hall and bounce of various items of furniture, that the old line of stitches began to bleed. This allowed the medics to diagnose the infection, so you could say the dog should be congratulated for his action. They took me into hospital and removed the pacemaker, and where I then spent two happy weeks being looked after by a lovely bunch of nurses. I came home yesterday evening and am now raring to go.
