Hi Mick, HQ Coy went to Italy in June 1969. We travelled from Lemgo on the back of 3 tonners. We stopped for one night at Nancy, France and stayed in a French barracks. I still remember going to a strip tease show in the town there. Travelled on to Bousson, Cesana and stayed at Caserne Montegrappa with the Alpini. We did rock climbing and went up and down various mountains. The officers with us were, Maj Brady, Capt Dawson, Lt Charter and also the education officer. We had a trip to Turin. We were presented with an Alpini badge, I still have mine. At the end of the tour we went to Aosta, the Alpini HQ and did a parade there. There are photos on the Germany PAGE numbers GS185, 186, 193, 194. Also in Other Countries photos from OC196 to OC205. I along with Mario D'Agostino and Alan Borg were used as interpreters. I even still have two records from the Italian hit parade by Adriano Celentano which I bought at the time we were there.
