6 Secretaries Report: Correspondence IN:
a) Received email from Nigel Taggart stated that he was very disappointed by the Poppy Day Launch on Saturday. Where were all the cadets with poppies for sale? Is the Royal British
Legion down to just two members? The QRA and our Branch were well represented but
Without us it would have been a complete non-event.
I cannot believe that this Launch did anything to enhance the reputation of the RBL and not
least was disrespectful to our Mayor and Mayoress.
I am all for supporting the Poppy Launch, but it really must get better organised next year.
b) Email from Mike Franks ref : Dorothy May was very pleased with the Birthday card she
received from the Branch, celebrating her 90th Birthday on the 1st November 2017. She
told everyone there, it was from the Regiment, she was very proud.
c) Emails to and fro to Town Clerk 8 in total, ref: Remembrance Sunday Parade. Where to fit in singing Sussex by the Sea, who should play it, and how many verses should be sung? It was finally agreed it would be played by the City Band. The format will be as follows:
Parade stand at Ease.
Sussex By the Sea Verse One plus Refrain.
Parade comes to attention.
City Council depart and we carry on as before.
