The only time I remember seeing a military copper in Aden was when the senior copper stopped me for speeding (he was in a civilian car) when we were coming back from the ranges in Little Aden. Admittedly I wasn't meant to be driving, but Bob Jacobs had been up all night protecting an RAF wife and was rather tired out, and it may also have been because half the platoon were hanging on in the back of the Land Rover as we sped back for lunch. I was invited by the CO (Lt Col Russell) to make a sizeable donation to the PRI - no point in giving me extra "orderly officers" - we already had more duties than we could manage anyway!
