I know how you and Mike feel I am from the East End but I was working in Sussex when I joined and you are right it doesn't matter where you are from you become part of a family that are called Royal Sussex but changing a Title shouldn't change how you feel. I will always be proud of and still am of the fact that I was a Member of the 1st Bn The Royal Sussex Regiment.
