: The re-dedication of the grave of Gen Murray went very well with about 60 to 70 people attending, from different organisations in Hastings and further afield, namely Eastbourne branch (thank you)and 2 serving servicemen from the Canadian army and navy.
: Including the Queen's Colour there were 11 standards on parade, 3 of which were Royal Sussex, Hastings Eastbourne and The 4/5 Cinque Ports Battalion Royal Sussex.
: As I said in earlier posts Gen Murray was Gen Wolfe's 2ic at the Battle of Quebec.
: Thanks go to all Royal Sussex personnel who attended to help make the day the success it was.
Well done Bob, an excellent performance, which you have done so much to re-dedicate and get other Branches involved - you see we can still make a name for ourselves in the sleepy right-hand corner of Sussex-by-the-Sea. I assumed Ben was General Murray's nickname to his old Hastings friends?
I'm sorry I wasn't able to be there and my apologies for that.
