Minutes of the Meeting held at the Chichester City Club Weds 14 th June 2017
The meeting opened with a minutes silence for those no longer with us.
1 Apologies: K White, G Wheatley, R Smith, G Whittington, D Whittington, R Lintott, I Smith, J Smith, J Boyce.
2 Members Present: J White, E Drew, D Tilley, P Cox, T Cox, T Booker, G Fielder, A Arnell, F Hill, B Morley, M Bright, S Ulrich, P Lawler, B Goddings, M Humme, N Taggart, D Callen, M Stenning, M Allen, J Walters.
3 Welfare: G Wheatley has been very poorly, in and out of St Ritchard's and Bognor Regis Hospitals, he is now in a nursing home in Fishbourne.
4 Minutes: All present received a copy of the minutes of the previous meeting. There were no matters arising it was proposed by Trevor Cox and seconded by Tony Booker. This was duly passed.
5 Chaiman’s Report: Good Evening. Thank you all for turning up and bringing a raffle prize. Our next Our next main event is our lunch this Friday. I do hope to see many of you supporting your Branch. I like to thank our Vice Chairman for standing in for me last month and doing today’S draw.

8 AOB: Dave Tilley said that the Tree Dedication service was a success and appreciated by the families.

details later. He also confirmed that the coach has been booked for the trip to Canterbury for the PWRR’s Presentation of their New Colours on 23 rd
September 2017. Names to Eddie to book your seats.
Nigel Taggart said that Eartham Village were holding Centenary Commemorations on the 3 rd July 2017 for George William Goble, who served as a Corporal in the 7 th
Battalion. He was killed in action At Monchy-Le-Preux, France.
On Tuesday 25 th July for Albert Colin Arnell, who served as a Sergeant in the 7 th
Battalion. He was killed in action, along with 21other men, in a surprise German attack and was the last Royal Sussex soldier from Eatham to die in the First World War. On both days The Regimental Flag will be raised at 0730hrs and flown all day. The church bell will be tolled twelve times for each of the twelve men of Eartham who lost their lives in the First World War. Nigel on behalf of the Eartham community thanked Trevor Cox for volunteering his services to be on Parade with the Standard. John White informed members that Martin Bell was elected as Vice Mayor of Chichester. The President and members of the Branch wish Martin a very successful tour of office.
