He was CO Howe Barracks till about '68/69. He was CO in 1966 when I arrived at the barracks. I had signed on in Roper Road and the Sgt there gave me directions to get to the barracks. By the time I got there I had completely forgotten his instructions on where to go once I entered the gates. So I went through the first door I came to, and then I thought the first door on the left. I knocked and a voice said come in. In I went and there he was, Col Buckeridge at his desk. He asked me if he could help so I told him who I was and why I was there adding that I didn't know where to go. He got up from his desk and pointed out the way to the company office. He was very nice about it, and when I did find out who he was, very much a gentleman I thought.
