Gillian I, along with Carol Boyd, widow of Leo Boyd who sadly passed away far too much to early, went to Malta last week to scatter his ashes. We laid the regimental flag down on the beach where he and Carol visited so many times. We scattered his ashes onto the flag and after a few words on behalf of us all and with a salute we scattered Leo to the cardinal wind of that day in honour of his wishes.
What I am about to say might upset one or two, ‘so what.’ Leo had a fear of the dentist as many of us do. He did not have a dental check up possible in 20 years. Had he, the dentist would have spotted the tumour in its early stages and Leo would still be with us. After a 15hour operation sadly there were complications’ from which Leo failed to recover.
The Moral of my report? ‘Make sure you, have regular check-ups with your dentist, it could save your life.
