: : Bob,
: : Do you have a list of the names, some of my family served in the Roy Sussex Regt during the Great War and lost their lives fighting for our freedom.

: These are the names of the Royal Sussex soldiers from Framfield killed in the Great War:

: Framfield Soldiers Killed in Great War (13)

: L/Cpl Percy Stephen Charles JONES
: Pte George BISHOP
: Pte Frank TUCKNOTT
: Lt John de Carrick CHEAPE
: Pte Bert DAWES
: Pte Ambrose DRIVER
: Pte Charles Henry EASTWOOD
: Pte Horace EASTWOOD
: Pte George Fred FOORD
: Pte Charles FOWLER
: Pte Albert Victor GURR ) Brothers
: Pte George David GURR )

Looks like two sets of brothers if the Eastwood's were brothers.

To loose one son would be sad but to loose two (or more) is indescribable.

We owe a debt of gratitude not only to the men that gave their lives but the families that they left behind.

It looks like money is more important to the local councillors that respect for the freedom the men of the memorial bequeathed us .
