Oh, so the town is going to collect the sales taxes from these "farmers", they are going to have to pay liability insurance, fair wages and collect withholding taxes for their "employees" just like the ROCK CITY ROAD VENDOR B.S. THAT THIS TOWN ALLOWS?
What are you smoking anyways? It's the only economy Woodstock has left with this Chamber running the show, you might as well grow weed, no overhead, you can pay your property taxes, no sales tax, and you reap the profits, not to mention that you don't have to contribute to School Taxes which are the highest in Ulster County.
Your argument doesn't hold up. I've spoken to plenty of merchants who are outraged by the lack of care and thought into something so ill thought out, the fact that every summer the Rock City Road Vendors show up, steal business, it is NOT A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD (they don't have near the overhead), and no other town allows this because they have a CHAMBER OF COMMERCE that stands for EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CHAMBER.
YOUR ARGUMENT IS HOGWASH AND OBVIOUSLY YOU'VE NEVER RUN A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS LIKE HALF THE LOSERS IN WOODSTOCK WHO DON'T PAY THEIR WAY.
