: : After several mechanical breakages to Gearbox and Axle due to excessive BHP from the new Cosworth developed Ford engine,Quaife being the fabulous company they are have developed a new Gearbox,CWP and Drive shafts to cope with the extra grunt.
: : Althou the lap times are similar, the reliability from these Quaife units are now second to none and can cope with the 235bhp unit using race fuel.
: : The new input shafts are as thick as a new born babies wrists and the SC/CR Dog Gears whines like a wolf on heat.
: I am running a 180 unit and often break the axle shafts, how much did Quaife charge for their thick shafts.
: By the way your Turner is the business.
Twice as much as the original Quaife units, but they where machined specially with thicker tubes and casing.
Some of the bearings where a pain to get but Quaife made some and I requested 10 sets.
Weight was an issue and overall the new machined components came in 5 Kilos heavier making the car weigh in at 496.
It feels better off the start line and out of the corners,it digs in and bites with much more confidence.
Reliability is a major issue with me and lapping Brands in the mid 40s was taking its toll out of the old units.
