I'm working on repairing the steel tub of my Mk3 after having removed it from the chassis. Incidently what is the gauge of the original steel in the tub? When I replace what should I put between the tub and the chassis. When I took the tub off there were cushions of something like old lino beneath the mountings points. Has anybody an idea what a 21st century equivalent would be?
