CommentsJust built and flown your 'Special' with an OS Max .25, a 20 year old receiver and some servos which are even older. A great little flyer for a few dollars and a couple of night's work. I even managed to use some of the old horns and clevises that I had been saving. Thanks for making the plans available.

If I could only fly one type of plane, I think this would be it. I hope you have more tricks like this up your sleeve, Grim!

CommentsI built one of your grim sickles last week. Dave West who built the Mig 7 test flew it. We put a Norvel .25 on it, put in a little reflex and let her go. Man did she scream. The roll rate was awesome the loops were not as tight as we anticipated. I balanced the plane at 1 inch from the leading edge so it may be a little nose heavy. Overall everyone was very exciteded about your design. This is the first time I have fooled around with elevons so this may also be a factor. I had the mix at 50%. If you have any advice let me know. Thanks for a really great design that was so easy to put together. I have helped our club build over 25 S.P.A.D. DERELICTS. Now everyone wants me to cut out some kits for our next entertainment meeting. When I put this all together I will send some photos. Once again thanks for sharing such a great little plane.

P.S. I am currently contacting Collin at S.P.A.D. to see if he would like some to offer his plane as an a.r.f. . I would be glad to discuss this with you if you are initerested. I am looking for a new buisness that would give me more satisfaction. It is so much fun seeing everone make fun of these cheap plastic planes and then watching their jaws drop when they see them fly. You and Collin have the best planes on the net. let me know.
Having a blast!!

CommentsDear Reaper,
1. How do I get back to this site? I got here on my first random pick from the R/C ring.
2. I just bought my first combat plane at a swap meet. It's a Combat Gremlin by HTA Combat and it's almost a dead ringer for your Grim Sickle but with a straight leading edge. (Same color and everything.) There are about four guys in my club interested in combat, including me, but I haven't even put the radio in my Gremlin.

CommentsThanks for the new site... have a sickle almost done....can't see much using a tail for combat if its not needed!!! ... Am going to fly coreplas planes this year only... think the concept of cheap, easy to build planes that fly great are the way to spur local combat... couldn't get new people interested zipping around with a raptor and gremlins with mvvs 26's...thanks again ,johnny v , shreveport la

I was wondering when other designs were going to start popping up. Great looking plane! Keep up the good work. After flying "thru" a Funbat (and other items) and coming through with only a few scratches, I can vouch for the coroplast designs, THEY CAN'T BE BEAT!!
