I was trying to be more upbeat than I truly feel in my post. I know we started out w/ incredible freedoms and opportunities but, like you, I sure don't feel the outside freedoms as we once had them. Also like you, I DO feel the internal freedoms which supercedes our contemporary outward boundaries of national freedoms.
I also agree that spirituality transcends nationalism/patriotism, but to me, the inclusion of patriotism, as we still CAN express in our country, is quite a bonus!
As for nation versus planetary focus...well, let's just say our focus level is a bit different. : )
: In order to be there for everyone, we have to be able to set aside the things that keep us from being a part of the whole. We need to start thinking like a planet and not just a nation on that planet.
: I also don't really believe we have true freedom in this country. We have a lot of people telling us we are free, but are we really? Myself, I don't see it.
: But you don't have to be outwardly free to be inwardly free, and the inward is so much more important than the outward.
