that we as humans are people of faith. Having the ability to reason and believe puts us on a little higher plane than other living beings.
Admittedly, I'm somewhat pantheistic in my viewpoint and see things a little differently than some, but while I believe that trees do clap their hands and bugs do talk, I suspect that they do so more for the heckuvit. We, on the other hand, clap our hands and converse *about* something--oftentimes because we're believing, we are compelled to make a cause, hopefully a good one.
We are able to find unity in the midst of diversity, because the common thread that is running through IS FAITH.
In a more perfect world, on a more perfect forum, there is room for people of all faith walks to break bread together because of FAITH, the one thing that is commonly held.
I see what SWMT and others say as being more the needle than the thread...At times, we drop the needle and find we just need to tie a knot in and hang on for a bit. But the love, the kindness, the practice of stillness, the giving, I see those are what push that faith-thread through the fabric, creating a tapestry called Life. Some will be more elaborate and detailed than others. Some, whose life has been hard, without much ease will be burlap. Some will be embroidered silk....
