They draw from all you mention above, but I like the rubber-meets-the-road bent of modern teachers that are able to take the wisdom of old and apply it to our current circumstance.
Buddhist and shamanic teachers are particularly of interest to me. One of the most profound books on shamanism was by a modern-day shaman, a white man raised by an Indian shaman. Some of the simple teaches were so profound.
