I'd probably hold off on the antibiotics and keep a CLOSE eye on her, if showed any signs different than her normal then put her on the antibiotics (or have her rechecked). I'd probably give her a month or so of the special diet, then just mix it with her regular food as sort of a maintenance (which will help cut back on the cost of it too).
If she doesn't seem to get better or makes a turn for the worse, then seek a second opinion. At the very least, I think I'd mix the special diet with her regular dog food to try and help prevent the crystals from forming stones. Mixing would help keep the cost down too. Give her a few weeks (as long as she is acting okay) and see how she is doing.
