I hope you're right about the cartilage. My son got a sister to this pup and her ears stand at attention all the time. My DH said when he let her out this AM that her ears stood up when she heard another dog in the neighborhood, so I guess there's hope. I hadn't thought of the cartilage thing, but it does make sense. But even if she turns out to be a flop-eared hound, she has won my heart.
