I usually just set goals (or a list of things) that I would like to accomplish in the year. I try to keep it simple and not say I will, but that I will try. I don't put specific things like I will lose weight or I will exercise everyday, but I say things like, "I will try to get on a better tract for eating and taking care of myself." Seems like those kinds of things go over better with me and I can work toward them than to just say "I will" do so and so.

I've bettered myself, got better jobs, read more, learned a new craft, etc. by doing these lists, but if I ever actually resolve to do something, seems it never gets done. I think I just have to trick my brain, LOL.
