: If anyone out there from the unit reads this please send a hello e-mail. I spent over 10 years in MT with the last 4 as MT Chief back n the 70's

: Was The Best of Times

: Remember the chow runs to the Hancock base, we had a great breakfast while waiting for the food canisters to be prepared. Remember S/Sgt Gordon, had us polish our boots in formation because they were grungy looking. How about the trips to Fort Drum where we "borrowed" (ha) an Army tanker truck, painted it Marine Corps Green with the Blue Diamond, used it for two weeks and then "gave it back", or the c-ration cases we scrounged at the tank target building and hid them all over the trucks? I'm sure someone heard about those actions! Remember when we had to paint our trucks, jeeps and trailers camo with the 4 different colors of paint based on the pattern? In fact, I think someone painted my old truck OD green, complete with the light blue diamond. As usual, the Marne Corps Reserve never had a lot of money. Does anyone remember the first trip to Twenty Nine Plams? Three differnt planes, one landed in texas with problems? How about the dust storm in the Mahove when all but one tent blew down right after noon chow? Of course the tent that remained up had the "heavy weights" holding the interior posts. Heavy in more ways that one!
