CommentsThanks guys for the nice comments - I just run this site because 'someone' has to.

We are of course always going to be a minority in angling circles but that is not really a bad thing in itself eh.

The bleak, wilder rivers and fishing by oneself, with just curlews and the cold mountain breeze for company, is not for everyone.

CommentsGood to see that there are others with the same obsession! I mainly fish the Eden and the Upper Tees for trout and grayling. Traditional wet flies and dry, prefer the dry fly with cane rods and #4DT lines. Not fished some the rivers mentioned but are on the list for this season. Hope you get the book published.

CommentsI found this site by accident while looking for fishing on the Lune.
What a wonderful surprise to find someone as daft as I was/am :-)
I thought I was the only person around who would rather not catch on the dry fly than catch on anything else. Lost all my fishing buddies many years ago as a result.

I'm just getting back into it after many years of health problems. I have dug out my Victorian 6ft split cane rod and will be out on the Hodder and Lune (at least) next year.

Wonderful site Mr Regan, thank you.

Commentsjust started fly fishing, was a sea fisher (bpool). flyfished as a kid now having a proper go. fished resis up to now but more keen on river side of things to be honest, rearly got my buds going reading your stuff. Ilive in b/pool so fishing the lune is not to far, i would appreciate if you could tell me the best place to start and like your web site says what sort of lighter gear would be used, as i am a novice in fly fishing, but a devoted fisherman allround. love the site and thanks for any advice, Bob

CommentsSpent a long time browsing your excellent website. I will have to make a trip across the Pennines to fish these rivers. Nothing better than a remote upland stream and a dry fly. Need to know how to access them though. Cheers.

CommentsWHAT A SUPERBLY INFORMATIVE SITE
I have had the great good fortune to share many a fishing adventure with Pat Regan. His approach to hunting wild fish is unique, and on many occasions: awe enspiring. When one fishes with Pat he teaches you to melt into the landscape and become a part of it,something he just instinctivly does.Pat calls it"alligning yourself with the landscape and becoming part of the river".His observations are, at times, uncanny and his insights unique.I thank him for his friendship and the many happy hours of fishing we have shared together. Knowing Pat as I do,I am sure that this site will become crammed with information available nowhere else. Bookmark this site and stay tuned!!
