Dear Class of 1976 ...
I accidentally stumbled on this site, looking for Judy Pelton to see how she was. I left teaching at RHS. in 1984 and lost contact w/most everyone that I knew. I have to say, just the MENTION of my name in your "remember when" made me smile!! If you thought Miss Pelton bluffed you, I was only a 21 yr. old, graduated from TCU. at Xmas 1975 and thrown into teaching a high school w/ the Sr. class being the same age as my little sister!! I was scared to death and had heard that it was better to have students respect you instead of like you, thus, I probably came on too hard (mean), but there were some Srs. that were really nice to me ... like Susan Mills, Shelley Stevens, Scott McDaniel, and I know there were more, but I'm 56 now, and can't remember names that well. I was crushed to hear of the death of Shelley Stevens and Kaye Matsler. I sadly knew about Rolf and Toby Woods. I just want the class of 1976 to know that they were one of the best classes that I remember and after being in the corporate world for 20+ yrs. after RHS., I am hoping to go back to teaching. All I ever wanted to do was teach life lessons and I think by 1984, I learned to do it a little nicer. Just remember, my "mean" demeanor was pure bluff, because I was more scared of y'all than you were of me!! All the best and I thank you all for remembering me!! God Bless you all in your future lives.
