A Successful Reunion - Perhaps Another?

Posted by Tara on June 21, 2006 at 22:44:59:

Our reunion is over....my husband's 30th reunion events were the weekend after, and now his is over...and right now I'm reunioned out - whew! But what a success it all turned out to be. I want to thank everyone who came to the reunion events. Please know that your presence meant a lot to your classmates. To those who were absent I have this to say: Almost all of us now are unbelievably nice -- even those who were not 30 years ago. *wink* You missed probably the most enjoyable time we've ever had together.
But here is the behind the scenes story: A few days before our reunion, Kathy, Steph, Buddy, Ronnie Morgan and I thought there may be a general lack of reunion interest this time -- like perhaps we have had a reunion or 2 too many because of the v-e-r-y light reservation response for the Austin Ranch event. ("Suppose we had a reunion and no one came?") So, I think we were pretty much resigned to seeing everyone again in 10 years instead of doing a 35th. But noooo!!! Y'all don't want to wait until we're 58 (ack!). The hue and cry is to do an all-class 50th birthday party. Like Vicki Beatty says, '76 ROCKS! I talked to countless '76ers who echoed the same sentiment, and for whom two nights was not enough time to visit with everyone they wanted, and to better get to know the new friends we made. So, another event in summer 2008 may just be in the offing. Nothing fancy - perhaps a casual dutch treat get-together like the Friday night mixer was. Anyone? Bueller?
Thanks again to the best classmates ever!
