The earliest Gillespie in Gillespie Settlement was probably Francis Gillespie, born NB, son of Francis Gillespie and Rosie ____, and married at Lepreau, NB to Nancy Ann Riordan who was born in Ireland. Seven children included
1) Mary Anne, born 12 May 1860, died 1935;
2) Edward, born abt 1862;
3) Francis, born abt 1863 and died 6 Mar. 1942. He married Mary Ida O'Regan;
4) John, born 20 April 1867, died 11 Sept. 1944;
5) Daniel, born 8 July 1867, died 14 Aug. 1947, he married 3 times - Mary Ann Lynch, Maria Bridget Mulherin, and Annie Poitras;
6) William, born 29 April 1871, died 19 Nov. 1946 and married to Alice Murchison;
7) Owen, born 30 April 1873, died 1937.
* You will note I have Daniel and John born 3 months apart, so I assume at least one of these dates is wrong. There are always errors. Please let me know if you find errors or omissions.
