Hi everyone,

I am not related to Reggie but my father always said he was our great-uncle. Unfortunately, Reggie is not my Grandpa Mac's brother, so he is not an uncle of any kind. My Grandfather was born in Ireland! Anyway, I have researched Reggie a fair but have not discovered where in Ireland his family was from. Anyone know?

I can also tell you why he was considered one of the greatest bicycle racers of all time. He won outright 700 races of the 3,000 some he competed.

I guess my father would have seen Reggie race, and possibly even may have talked to him. That would have been when he was racing the 6 day races near/at? the Madison Square Garden in New York City. This race required a partner, and you just ran until you fell asleep to be relieved by your partner. The winners usually went 2,200 to 3,200 miles in the race!!!

Hope I remembered that all properly. You can be proud him, one of the most incredible athletes ever.

Take care,
Jim McNamara in California
