Has there been any recent-ish references to the Harry Palmer films from M.C. himself? How does he view those movies with hindsight? Ipcress File was a breakthrough for him, but does he rate them as significant?, does he enjoy watching them himself or wince? I believe that Ken Russell agreed to direct B$B as a stepping stone to direct movies, but was indifferent to the project, then & now. He simply wanted to move from the theatre to HOLLYWOOD. Michael seems to name drop Alfie, Zulu, Get Carter, The Italian Job, but not the trio of H.P. mid 60's movies. Regards to All, Keith.
BTW, wasn't Karl Malden as dependable as ever in B$B? I believe he is still with us but well into his 80's. & Ed Begley should have won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor! Ed, you were robbed!
