I've heard several people say that Bets didn't have much of an effect on them. I sobbed when she died! Montgomery has more than one instance of a character dying too young because they are too much like an angel.
I love Judy too. I suppose the reason she isn't my favorite is because I find it difficult to relate to her. The accent is charming, and a bit of a departure for Montgomery.
