It's the old story of divide and rule which the British play beautifully. All movements for independence or, at least, greater autonomy (and in the case of England recognition as a nation) should be united: English (non-racist), Scottish, Welsh, Cornish, Manx, Channel Islands, et al. From my point-of-view it might jolt the sleeping English beauties into reality.
