She is gone now, off to a place of peace and joy, and I know she has had an especially great time the last few weeks -- her first great-grandchild was born and another granddaughter married, and I know my mom was there looking on with a great big grin on her face on both occasions.
I really can feel her with me sometimes, and I talk to her every day -- I am glad her pain is over forever, and I celebrate her life every day.
I'm not sure it is really possible to ever completely get over the loss of your mother, but it is comforting to me to feel that she still looks out for me in some way.
