I would not agree with you Stan on turning off the heater. He is already plucked and he NEEDS warmth.
You also said that birds evolved w/out the need for humidifiers. True, but .... do you know that where they live, humidity might be close to 80%, which is optiomal for our captive birds?
I would leave the heater on and also the humidifier on. However, make sure that you give a very good scrub of your humidifier every day.
