First...is your housekeeper knowledgeable in birds and their beaks? If he's eating with no problem and you don't think anything has changed, then I would assume there is nothing wrong. Hopefully you have mineral blocks or cuttlebones available (for beak maintenance and calcium/minerals), as well as chew toys. An overgrown beak is very noticeable, and although there are birds that do have to have their beaks trimmed, it is not the norm. Trimming nails seems to be what needs to be done more often than not. If you are concerned, then I would have a vet look at and possibly trim the beak.
They are endearing when they talk and greet you.....and what a cute story about Christmas......smart little guys!!
