Hey Stan,
Magoo and Rainbow are about the same age. Rainbow was hatchd in March of 2009. I got him from the breader in June 2009 with his wings clipped. His flight feathers have fully grown in. They all of a sudden started to grow in and never stopped. They are a Beautiful Royal Blue and are about a quarter of the way down his tail. When they started to grow in he spent a lot's of time flapping around in his cage. Now that he has his flight wings I can't get away from him. Every time I move he flies right behind me. Bath and cleaning his cage have become nightmares. Now when it's time for his bath I speed a great deal of time chasing him around, because he flies away. I have to put him in his travel cage to clean his main cage because he keep flying over to the main cage crapping all over the place as I'm cleaning it. A couple of times he has flown into the garage when the door opened, Good thing the doors to the outside were closed. He buzzes everyone that goes into the kitchen. The kitchen is a pig problem, he knows food is there and he won't stay out of the kitchen. He perches on to of the frig and the hood of the stove. When my wife is cooking I have to keep him locked in his cage because I'm affraid he will get into the pots on the stove. I have a pair of hawks that are nesting in my nieghbor tree that use the light pole in my back yard as a feedng perch. I've seen them eating birds squarles and lizards perched on the light pole. I Love the idea of Rainbow having the freedom of flight but I'm having second thoughts because of all the reasons noted above. I don't want Rainbow to get injured or to get out of the house and become dinner for hawks dinner/feeding perch.

: Magoo seems to be taking a long time to grow back his flight feathers.
: Does anyone know if there is a 'normal' amount of time for this to happen?
: Magoo had his wings clipped by the breeder before I brought him home in June, 2009. He's been through a molt, and even grew back 2 tail feathers. But so far, no sign of any new flight feathers.
