I would say not wear the gloves, use a small perch of some type to remove them, remember this is their territory, Playpen or Cages, I went through the same thing too, Scooter still will nip or bite when taking from his cage, and this also just started recently, some times it might be a little talking before attempting, but better to be safe. Scooter bites sometimes and after I have in my hand and secure , He seems kinda of sorry, or maybe its just me ;}
