My GCC is usually pretty quiet, except now, during breeding season. I had her DNA sexed early, and she is defineately female. She is 2 1/2 years old and this is her first year showing seasonal behavior. She is constantly sqawking. I do not give in to such behavior, I wait until she is quiet to show her attention. She also never usually bites (unless you're the vet) and she has niped a few times. She actually knows better to nip because she gets put on the ground and her company leave the room (this is very effective since she does not like it). I know enough about birds to know she isn't physically hurt. I also know mature female birds go thru a stressful season and act out exactly as she is.
My questions are....
HOW CAN I MAKE THIS PERIOD LESS STRESSFUL FOR MY BIRD (WITHOUT GIVING IN TO HER BEHAVIOR)?
CAN A BIRD BE FIXED (LIKE A CAT OR DOG)?
