We successfully drove across the country (Canada) with our 2 conures in March. The way we did it was to put their regular cages in the back seat of the car, with water and food, and left the doors open - they had a choice of hanging out in there or hanging out in the front with us. When we (or they) needed a break, we just put them in and closed the doors. My GCC tends to get carsick, but handles it better if perched on my shoulder (I think there is fewer vibrations this way than in his cage, less bumps felt etc.) As for sneaking them into restaurants/hotels, we had no choice as it was still freezing out, and we didn't want to leave them in the car. We had 2 little soft travel carriers, and would pop them into those and cover them with our coats, and leave them covered in the restaurant - they stayed quiet and warm this way, and we were never questioned, even in a small diner in the middle of Saskatchewan! I think you'll be fine with bringing them in as long as they are in a carrier. The only thing that freaked them out was heavy rain one day, and once they got used to it they settled. All in all the 4 of us made it, 4500 km in 4 days without it being too stressful. We did let them out of the cage in our motel rooms at night to give them a bit of exercise.

: I'm moving across country to Florida and will be bringing my gcc. She gets carsick, and this is going to be a 5 day drive. Any advice on keeping her calm and healthy? Has anyone tried hiding them and bringing them in restaurants along the way?
