Ratbird usually has one or two pinfeathers, especially around her cheeks or ears, throughout the year. In spring she usually goes through a pretty significant molt that lasts a few months. She hasn't started yet and I'm beginning to get a little worried. I have noticed she's being a little hormonal with her toys (no egg laying though) she just seems incredibly angry at her favorite swing toy, and will bite and make agitated noises at it for 30 minutes to an hour. I figure she's just 'playing'. She's on a regular light schedule, she gets uncovered at 6am and covered at night around 9pm (a bit long, I know, but most of our alone time is when I finally get a chance to sit down after dinner, and I don't want to cut that short). I also recently changed her pellets from zupreem to Harrisons, which my vet recommended as a higher quality, organic food. Her weight isn't fluctuating. How long should I wait for her to start molting before I bring her in to the vet? Do I need to be concerned about this? I don't think she's ever missed a molt before...
