Max bites me too but it's not that hard yet, not hard enough for me not to be able to ignore it anyway. I just pick him up and place his feet into the two holes and try to close the back as quickly as possible even if it's not closed exactly right (it seems easier to fix after it's on then to try again from the beginning) and then I adjust it, pull his wings out, etc. I haven't taken him out since last week because the weather has been colder. Hopefully I can take him out again tomorrow.
