I have noticed similar vocalizations, in similar situations.
The "ACK! ACK! ACK!" alarm call is used when she is frightened and is usually accompanied by her flying a lap around the livingroom.
The "purring" sort of noise is done when she is nervous or worried. When she's in the car, she will make this noise when a large truck passes; sometimes she will start and make this noise while intently watching something in the window - possibly a hawk. She will take on an alert pose, stretched up tall with feathers flattened. It usually passes quickly.
Chico screams (just a single scream, not like the alarm cry) when she's upset but not frightened. She may scream if I leave her somewhere she doesn't want to be left; she may scream if she wants a bath and hears running water, and so on.
She also whines. Whining basically means the same thing as screaming but if I'm near her she usually whines instead of screaming. Whining may be accompanied by wing fluttering in the direction of whatever it is she wants.
Chico also has a whole variety of adorable little squeaks, squeals, and clicks she does when happy... usually when playing or eating a treat or enjoying a head scratch. She has a particular happy squeal that she uses when playing with a bell or other noisy toy.
Talking is reserved for when she wants to interaxt with us. She has a very limited vocabulary but still manages to use it to initiate interaction. She LOVES to tap on things and will shout 'two' or 'three' when she taps (but she doesn't really know how to count).
