I recently acquired a maroon bellied conure, thinking that she would be a great friend for my GCC . Unfortunately, this is not the case. The two are very jealous of each other, and end up fighting over perches, shoulders, food and anything else. We have to keep them apart to avoid this. However, they do seem to slowly be getting used to each other - there has been some preening back and forth (under strict supervision) and despite seemingly hating each other, they always want to be in the same place together. I am hoping that it will just take time...
