I built a TX-GT around 1971 using a bare bodyshell ran it for about 8 years. would be interested in photos / details of ELK TX-SS with flat window. I photographed this car at Denham airfield in June 1971. Do the body moulds still exist for these cars? It would be just possible to put a 'new' TX-SS on the road using an old unmodified GT6 chassis and running gear. That way it avoids the costly IVA. The niormal Fairthorpe chassis rails which I welded to my chassis would need to be bolted to the GT6 chassis and new body. The availability of the old Vauxhall Viva HB windscreen used on these cars might be a problem, unless a more modern windscreen could be used wuith an adapted new mould. I also substantially modified a TX-SS shell which was never comopleted. what engine was fitted to elk?
