: Really keen on doing a Typhoon or tempest up , maybe using modern cosworth parts. It would need to have some sort of hardtop as it will be my nearly everyday car. Is it possible to get body parts made still ( like the hard top) I've been reading the history of Tornado cars and was confused of which one i actually had seen and liked . ( the one with the drop nose !)
Hi Simon, Good to hear that you are interested in these cars. Typhoon & Tempest use much of the same body work although both models have 2 seater options, you could also get a 2 Plus 2 Typhoon but a full 4 seat Tempest, plus a Sportsbrake (estate car version) of either. Both models had a detachable hard top as an option, actually held on by 10 bolts so not quick to take on and off. Typhoon or Tempest what a question! Typhoon big wheels & Side valve engine, Tempest small wheels and OHV engine. Article on Tornado's in the issue of Classics Monthly magazine due to publish mid Feb 2009. I will e-mail you with further information about chosing a car. Best Wishes, Dave
