Interesting to note, that 6 Victoria Cross Holders are buried in the cemeteries of Folkestone.
They are buried in Cheriton (just on the outskirts of Folkestone) and in the grounds of Shorncliffe Barracks a hundred years ago.
They are; Admiral Sir John Commerell, Private John Doogan, Sergeant Joseph Brennan, General Mark Walker, Private Patrick McHale and Captain William Kerr.
