She's funny, she writes page turners, and once you start on one of her books, you don't want to put it down. I don't care for her books written as J.D. Robb, however. If I had to say anything negative about her romance novels, it would be that just on occasion -- not always -- but I have read a couple of her books where I thought the sex scenes were just a bit of overkill. I really liked her flower series: Blue Dahlia, Black Rose, and there was one more but can't think of it right this minute.
Have you ever read any of the Father Tim books written by Jan Karon? She has an entire series of these, written about a little town called Mitford. Father Tim is a rector, minister, preacher, whatever in the local church in the small town of Mitford. In the beginning of the series, he is single, takes in a wayward child that is from an abusive home, and the story just keeps going from there in her books. I loved the entire series.
I think I liked the Mitford so much because I could really picture the small town. Jan Karon lives part-time in Blowing Rock, NC. Having lived there once myself, I can imagine the church and the town, as described in the books, even the local hospital.
