As a family, we are like the Titanic that has just sunk and all the family members are thrashing about in the water. At times, I am tempted to go try to help one of them, but then my wiser self cautions me that I will just be pulled down into the freezing water with them. Better to let them stop thrashing first and then go look for survivors, which will be a few years yet.
