You would like to see half of the money go into investments for later. If you dont say anything, it will eat you up...if you let him spend it all, it will just be a huge wedge between you...if you at least say what's on your mind, you can at least know you did stand your ground.
He's got to understand your personality enough to know its bothering you to see him waste it.
I also think you should enjoy a little spending too and get yourself something you would like to have but would never really purchase w/out the help of this money. It doesn't have to be a lot of money, just something to treat yourself.
