Have you tried a Y-DNA test?? You are very lucky in the sense that you are a man.Y-DNA ( only males)can lead you to your father perhaps...you will have to find a "Lab." or company, that can test you with other (Flannery surname) this will possibly give you a conncection with him, your father, or brother's of your father, or son'sof your father.Y-DNA, does not include women, but men can find generations of their family, your name is fairly commun, and Irish (I think) You will need "Markers" for your name that are high, within the DNA test... in other words 19 markers are not enough (most DNA companies propose 19 markers, with your surname you must ask for more markers see 39 /49 markers, because the name is commun) it costs around 149 dollars, but is worth it.Try family tree DNA.Any questions, just ask.
