The ASA Late Model Series 2009 Season offers Teams Fair and Competive
Racing

(November 7th, 2008 – Lexington, MI)

For Immediate Release

The 2009 season is just around the corner, teams are dabbling in their
last triumph of 2008 with the All American, Memphis King’s Ransom and
Snowball Derby. Then it will be 2009 full force starting with the PRI
Show in Orlando on December 11th, 12th and 13th.

We will wind right into the ASA Late Model Series ‘Weekend of
Champions’
on January 9th and 10th that will be held at the Clarion Inn and Suites
at
3536 Secor Rd., Toledo, Ohio. The weekend will once again be all
inclusive and host a variety of activities starting with ASALMS ‘How
to
Clinics” informal Meet and Greet Party, Owners/Drivers Meeting and
the
Annual Awards Ceremony and party.

The Series and officials are hard at work putting together schedules,
rules and marketing programs to provide a competitive, cost effective
and
exciting short track programs for our teams and partners.

The ASA Late Model Series will still remain true to the philosophy that
started in 2003, a cost effective traveling series with cost limitation
implemented to create a fair and level playing field. 2009 will be no
different, or rules package will continue to provide teams with fair
and
equal equipment whether you have a small budget or an unlimited budget.

The Series has been working for over 2 years with General Motors to
keep
the cost effective racing dream a reality. The new motor the LS3 that
we
are introducing into the series will continue to build on that. The
current crate motors and the platform of the series will not change;
this
is the base foundation that the series was built on. The LS3 is an
evolution of that; it will be blending into the series with fairness
and
equality.

Teams that are currently running the crate motors in the series can
continue to run them and compete with ferocity. We are working on
programs that will help the two motors blend together and enhance each
other. This is a measure that is being developed to help competitors
have
control over their own racing futures; it will help mandate that their
neighbor has to run with the same equipment as they do.

The 2009 economic climate may continue to be a challenge and this
program
is suited well for that climate. Teams can continue to run what they
have
and still be competitive or they can upgrade to the LS3 and compete
equally without additional costs of refreshing and rebuilding their
motors
to stay on top.

The series would never jeopardize the integrity of the crate program or
all that it has accomplished for late model racers throughout the
country.
The LS3 just builds on this program to help teams continue to stay
competitive into the future of late model racing.

The 2009 season will be one of the brightest seasons in our history
with
some of the best tracks in the country as part of our program. We will
once again run North, South and the Challenge Division for
Championships.
The ASA Late Model Series will still remain the place to race if you
want
to showcase your skill not your pocket book.
